GESTURE A   Raising the Front Paw

❓Why do they exhibit such behavior

1. Showing intent, let's play!

2. Ouch, my paw hurts!

3. Feeling uneasy in a new environment

✅What should you do

1. Check for any injuries

2. Give extra pets in new environments to ease anxiety

3. If the dog just wants to play, don't respond every time to avoid being manipulated!

GESTURE B   Resting Head on Paws

❓Why do they exhibit such behavior

1. Bored and taking a break

2. Craving snacks, hoping for a treat

3. Missing doggy pals or feeling down

✅What should you do

1. Spend more time outdoors with your dog

2. Arrange more playdates to socialize

3. Offer some treats to lift their spirits

GESTURE C   Furniture Rubbing

❓Why do they exhibit such behavior

1. Claiming territory with their scent

2. Scratch that itch on their back

3. Just ate and needs their mouth wiped

✅What should you do

1. Observe when and why your dog rubs furniture

2. Check for fleas or skin allergies in rubbed areas

3. Wipe their mouth after meals

 GESTURE D   Sleep Twitching

❓Why do they exhibit such behavior

1. Having a wild dream

2. Feeling chilly and shivering

3. Experiencing seizures with severe shaking

✅What should you do

Dog sleep has three stages: non- REM, REM, and short-wave sleep, with REM sleep being the dreamiest!

1. Don't wake them up; sleeping dogs may overreact

2. Keep them warm with a cozy blanket if it's cold

3. If they're stiff or shaking uncontrollably, seek veterinary help

GESTURE E   Inviting Play by Raising Butt

❓Why do they exhibit such behavior

1. Officially inviting you to play

2. Using mating etiquette to show friendliness

✅What should you do

1. Let them gradually interact with other dogs and start playing

2. If your dog invites you like this, play with them for a few minutes. Positive responses to play invitations make dogs happier!

 GESTURE F   Tail Chasing

❓Why do they exhibit such behavior

1. Compulsive behavior or showing off skills

2. Releasing stress and calming down

3. Puppies find their tails fascinating!

4. Could be a sign of skin issues or high cholesterol

✅What should you do

1. If boredom leads to tail chasing, introduce them to new friends

2. Prepare toys for when you're not home

3. Check for any skin problems around the tail

GESTURE G   Belly Flashing

❓Why do they exhibit such behavior

1. Seeking love and attention

2. Surrendering to show submission (dog-to-dog)

3. Feeling secure and trusting the environment

✅What should you do

1. If they're looking for attention, give them some pets and interaction

2. Speak softly to them if they're showing their belly due to fear

3. Check their back and belly; prolonged twisting might indicate skin issues

GESTURE H   Circling Before Bed

❓Why do they exhibit such behavior

1. Instinctively preparing their sleeping spot

2. Leaving their scent to claim territory

✅What should you do

1. Ignore them when they start circling

2. Provide a comfy bed suitable for their size
